Los Angeles County
Museum of Art
Los
Angeles County Museum of Art desired to create a screen to shroud
the large cooling towers on top of the Ahmanson building, which
would then also serve as a visual focal point in the rehabilitation
of Hancock Park. A structure was devised that would both serve
as a beacon light source as well as signage for the museum. The
steel frame attaches to the existing roof and is covered with
a polycarbonate panel system that can be backlit at night, becoming
a highly visible element from the park's new northern entry points.
